Marilyn and Judy Garland at The Golden Globes, 1962.
Judy said this about Marilyn, which broke my heart :(
“I knew Marilyn and loved her dearly. She asked me for help - ME! I didn’t know what to tell her. One night at Clifton Webb’s house Marilyn followed me from room to room. ‘I don’t want to get too far away from you, I’m scared,’ she said. I told her, ‘We’re all scared. I’m scared too.”
Marilyn’s funeral song was “Somewhere over the rainbow” By Judy Garland.
Judy said on Marilyn’s death:
“I don’t think Marilyn really meant to harm herself. It was partly because she had too many pills available, then was deserted by her friends. You shouldn’t be told you’re completely irresponsible and be left alone with too much medication.”
Ironically but tragically, they both died of a Barbiturate overdose, Judy in 1969 at the age of 47.
The day Judy died, there was a tornado in Kansas,<3
OH MY GOD I’M GONNA CRY, TWO OF MY FAVOURITE LADIES :(
